Ancelotti: "We don't need another forward"

Carlo Ancelotti talked about a possible replacement for Morata in the California Memorial Stadium's pressroom. After the friendly played against Inter, the manager was in no doubt: "I think that in this team we have Benzema who is very reliable and we can also play other players there. Isco can be a false nine; it's not so important to have a centre-forward to score a lot of goals, but rather a player to play Bale or Cristiano in. We're not going to look for another forward because we don't need one".

Moving on, the Italian insisted that he was unaware of any plans regarding the departure of Di María: "There is no news in the market. Di María has finished the World Cup, he is resting on holiday and will return to Valdebebas on August 5th".

Regarding the game, the manager was asked for his thoughts on Bale, to which he replied that the Welshman was having a great pre-season: "I think that he can enjoy this time that he was not able to have last year, in readiness for the official games. I think that Bale is going to improve this year and that it will be a different season for him, above all at the beginning. He looks fresh and in good shape".
Regarding James, Carlo said, "He joins the team on August 1st; he has the necessary quality to be in our team. He's a very young player and represents an investment for the future".
