Lionel Messi has asserted he was subjected to more thorough hostile to doping controls than his Barcelona buddies in front of Wednesday's Champions League go against Paris Saint-Germain.
Officers from AETSAD (Spanish Agency for Protection of Health in Sport), who work in conjunction with Uefa, went to Barcelona and directed tests on five players - Messi, Andres Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic, Claudio Bravo and Jordi Alba - preceding Monday morning's preparation session.
A while later Messi took to his Instagram record to uncover he went under specific investigation. "Doping control. Of the five picked, I was the special case who needed to give pee and blood tests... bit bizarre isn't it?" he composed.
On Saturday, Messi snatched an alternate cap trap - his 21st in La Liga - as Barca whipped city rovals Espanyol 5-1.
The Argentina forward has scored 13 objectives in 14 La Liga appearances this term, while netting an extra seven objectives in five Champions League appearances.
On Wednesday, Barca have the opportunity to secure top spot in Champions League Group F by beating PSG at Camp Nou.
