Inter and Argentina legend Javier Zanetti is trusting that his countryman Lionel Messi can win the Fifa Ballon d'or in January.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the current leader for the honor in the wake of heading Real Madrid to their tenth Champions League title, with Manuel Neuer finishing the three-man shortlist.
Barcelona had an infertile year last term, however Messi headed his nation to the World Cup last, where they lost to Germany, and Zanetti holds trust that he could scoop the prize.
"I'm trusting that Messi wins it - he's a genuine incredible," previous Inter stalwart Zanetti told Fifa.com.
"He never quits amazing individuals: at any given minute he's equipped for ad libbing with a touch of aptitude or something dynamite that can win you an amusement.
"In my perspective, he's the best player on the planet."
