Real Madrid's Portuguese striker has been awarded the Goal 50 trophy for the third time. The accolade is handed out every year by the Goal.com website to the best player of the season, and both Ronaldo and Messi have now won it on three occasions.
"It's a very big honour for me to have been chosen as the best player", remarked Cristiano Ronaldo on receiving his third goal 50 trophy at the Real Madrid training base in Los Angeles.
"I have always maintained that it's the teams, your teammates and the fans that make each of us better as footballers. I'm convinced that I wouldn't have been able to win this award without the constant support from all the people at Real Madrid", added the player, who equalled Leo Messi's three-time haul of the award.
The top goalscorer in the Champions League and La Liga last season topped the voting ahead of Bayern Munich's Arjen Robben and Barcelona's Leo Messi, who received a runner's up medal in the recent Brazil World Cup.
After joining up with the Real Madrid squad, Cristiano Ronaldo stressed that his objectives are "to fight from the start of every training session to the last minute of every match" in a season during which he hopes to win "all of the trophies possible".
"Our club, our coaching staff, my great teammates and myself, we will do everything we possibly can - day in, day out and week in, week out - to bring as much joy as possible to our magnificent fans", said the striker.
